« Emergency Ring Removal and The Titanium Ring Myth   Tap Into Your Mind To Attain Fast Weight Loss »

by Craig Mecham

If you got a tattoo a few years ago and have decided now that it really wasn’t a wise decision, you can get it removed. The procedure is usually done at a med spa and it’s easier than you might think.

Tattoos can often be one of the most unique situations presented to med spa personnel. There are many factors that must be considered before the removal process begins. These include how deep the coloring is, what colors were used, your skin tone, and how old the tattoo is. Most tattoos can be removed, there are some that will not go away completely.

There are two procedures that are now most likely to be used to remove tattoos. Laser surgery is the most common and the least expensive. This involves several treatments and involves the use of a highly concentrated light laser that works to break up the ink. Your body’s immune system will then carry the fragments of ink away. The more treatments you are able to get, the more ink will be removed. However, if you get too many treatments and don’t allow your skin to heal completely in between, you can have significant scarring.

Many experts say that with the advancements in laser surgery, there is now little scarring during the procedure. However, the tattoo elements, such as coloring and how large the tattoo is will also affect the removal process.

Intense Pulsed Light Therapy is the newest treatment available today. It is performed in just about the same way. A gel is put on the skin and a specialized wand that uses a special pulse of light is moved over the skin. This treatment is less painful than a regular laser surgery and it also has a higher success rate. You will probably need about six treatments, maybe more, to remove a regular sized tattoo. The price for this procedure is usually more than traditional laser surgery.

Many people get tattoos and later wish they hadn’t. There are many employers nowadays that will not allow a visible tattoo and some refuse to hire anyone that has one. If you have a tattoo that bears another’s name and this person is not long a part of your life, you probably want to get rid of the tattoo. You can speak with the personnel at the med spa you frequent to see if this option is available for your tattoo.
