Finding your surgeon from among all those tubal reversal doctors will at times seem like such a chore. After all, there is much you do need to know about to make the best decision for you. The following paragraphs will help you with this effort.

Choosing a doctor does mean learning a lot, but really you want a doctor who will listen to you and answer your questions. In addition, it’s very good to know what his other patients have to say about him. Do they recommend him?

But to begin at the beginning, you will want to know about his education and training. What schools did he attend? Where did he do his residency? Who trained him to be a tubal reversal specialist? Does he specialize in tubal reversals?

Next you want to know about his experience. How many of these surgeries does he do weekly? Or are you going to have to ask for yearly? By that, I mean he can only tell you he has done two surgeries in the last year so a weekly number is not something he can produce.

What about his staff from nurses to surgical technicians to anesthesiologists? Does he work with the same people continuously so they know the procedure inside and out? What is your gut feeling about the nurses who are mostly the ones you talk to?

All the above are important but maybe one of the most important things, as I alluded to above, is whether or not he responds to your questions. Or does someone at least from the office answer your questions and concerns? Do you get the feeling they really care about you as their patient or are you simply another paycheck? How easy is it to communicate with the doctor and his staff? Do they provide more than just the phone as a means of contact?

What about contacting the other women who have been this doctor’s patients? Can you by some means like a message board? Does he even have enough patients to have a tubal reversal message board? What do they think of this doctor and his staff? Where are the testimonials from other patients?

Who knows which of the tubal reversal doctors will be the best for you but at least now you have something to get you started. In my opinion, having a doctor who listens to and responds to you will be for the best as long as his training, education and experience back it up. That’s where the recommendations from previous patients will help.
